Founder & Tax Data Researcher · CountryTaxCalc
I'm Daniel — a UK-based developer and researcher who built CountryTaxCalc in 2025 after noticing there wasn't a single good free tool for comparing take-home pay across countries.
I research and maintain every page on this site. Tax rate data is sourced directly from official government tax authorities — HMRC, the IRS, BZSt, CRA, ATO, and equivalents across 111+ countries. I update rates each year when budgets and tax laws change.
The site is independent — no VC funding, no editorial agenda. I built it because I wanted it to exist, and I keep it accurate because accuracy is the only thing that makes it useful.
Full story on the About page →Every calculator and guide on this site uses rates and rules sourced from the primary government tax authority for that country — not third-party summaries, not news articles, not Wikipedia.
HMRC, IRS, BZSt, CRA, ATO, IRAS, AEAT, DGFiP, and equivalents. Each page links to the relevant official source.
Rates are reviewed each January when most tax years reset, and again in April for UK/Ireland budget changes.
Calculators produce estimates. Individual circumstances (deductions, credits, filing status) affect actual liability. Every page says so.
Calculator inputs are processed locally in your browser and never sent to our servers. No sign-up, no paywall.
