Barbados uses the Barbadian Dollar (BBD), pegged to the USD at BBD 2.00 per USD. Residents pay progressive income tax of 12.5% up to BBD 50,000 and 28.5% above, plus NIS social security of 11.00% (employee, effective April 2025) plus a 0.25% Resilience and Regeneration Fund levy. The Barbados Revenue Authority (bra.gov.bb) administers income tax and VAT. Corporate tax was reformed to a flat 9% standard rate in 2024, replacing the old tiered 1โ€“5.5% International Business Company regime under global minimum-tax pressure.
